What are the Best Small Kitchen Appliances for a Healthy & Fit Lifestyle?

Crytsal With Kichen appliance

I found that stocking up on the best small kitchen appliances that made cooking healthy fit meals easier was a huge part of my transformation success.

I am always saying, “Plan to succeed”. If you don’t plan things out such as always having on- hand easy to prepare foods as well as the kitchen tools to cook them, you will turn to less healthy options to grab in a rush. This will slow down or stop your progress altogether. Fit your kitchen with FitTools!

#1 George Foreman Indoor/Outdoor Grill

George Foreman Indoor/Outdoor GrillWho doesn’t love a good charcoal grilled piece of lean steak or chicken breast or even fish for that matter? But who has time these days to fire up the pit? I don’t! My dad actually gave me a George Foreman Grill about 5 years ago. I have to say that it sat in the box until about two years ago. When I finally pulled it out and tried it. Not only do I think it is the best indoor grill ever but it ranks as #1 on my list for best small kitchen appliances!

#2 Keurig Mini

Keurig MiniNot only is this little brewing system for that quick wake-me-up for the gym but more importantly (some coffee lovers would disagree) it makes the list for that cup of Green Tea! Green Tea should be a must for everyone but especially those serious about a achieving a fit body. Green tea has many antioxidant effects. It is also known to help stimulate the metabolism and create a thermogenic or fat burning effect. Mine was a gift and I am not sure how I made it this long without it. It’s one of my favorite and best small kitchen appliances.

#3 Slow Cooker/ Crock Pot

Slow Cooker/ Crock PotThis is about less time in the kitchen not more, right? I use my slow cooker at least 2 times a week. I put it all in in the morning, leave it and forget it until dinner. At that point, I may need to cook some brown rice or whole-wheat pasta and toss a salad. Mine is big enough to cook enough for…can every busy mom shout it out…LEFTOVERS!

#4 Immersion Blender

Immersion BlenderRegarding best kitchen blenders, I think that this is one of the most overlooked items that should be on the best small kitchen appliances list. It is small and very useful for protein shakes, healthy smoothies, homemade hummus, and so much more.

#5 Panini Griddle

Panini GriddleI use my Panini maker almost everyday. I take my P28 high protein bread and either make a tuna melt, basil, tomato and turkey or just a regular turkey sandwich (dipped in hot sauce, of course). You could use your indoor grill but I like the fact that the Panini maker has a free-floating hinge and a just a damp paper towel.

#6 Food Processor

Food ProcessorI have friends that don’t have this and chop everything by hand. Yikes! Maybe I feel this way because I am from Louisiana and everything we cook typically has the trinity, chopped onion, celery and bell pepper. I stick it all in, pulse and voila! You can chop extra at a time and just bag and store in fridge for several days. Total time saver.

#7 Toaster Oven

Toaster OvenThis is great for my Ezekiel or P28 Toast in the morning as well as being useful for quick heat ups for the family. Rather than using the microwave or firing up the oven, I can use the toaster oven for small batch chicken breast nuggets for the kids or to bake a piece of fish. It has so many more uses than just an old fashioned toaster.

#8 Juicer

JuicerOkay, I will admit…there are days when I have to grab and go and sometimes my meals are mostly all protein shakes until dinner. This means that sometimes I don’t get all of my veggies in. By juicing, I ensure I get all of the nutrients that come in my fit food fruits and veggies. I need to get them in my body to keep my immune system going strong since I have all the stresses of a busy life in addition to a rigorous workout schedule. I can juice in the morning, grab and go!

#9 Waffle Maker

Waffle MakerDon’t get too excited…these waffle are not for you! They are for your family. Waffles are a great way to get more protein into them to jumpstart the day. Add a scoop of vanilla or unflavored protein powder to the mix as well as a touch of vanilla extract to sweeten and disguise if you know what I mean.

#10 Handheld Mixer

Handheld MixerThis is one of the best affordable kitchen appliances. When the immersion blender won’t do the job, this little mixer will. I use mine for mashed potatoes, mashed cauliflower, cake batters and more. I have a larger mixer and I never use it, ever! It’s too much trouble to pull out.

I am about ease of use, ease of clean up and ease of storage. So now that you have the top 10 recommended Fit Kitchen Tools, get fitted for success!
